This artwork is inspired by the essence of monarch butterflies, featuring rich hues of burnt orange, gold, rust, and sky blue that capture the feeling of wings soaring gently through time and distance. Monarchs follow the sun and their inner guidance on their journey. "Emergence" portrays this flight alongside a landscape that offers a sense of grounding, hope, and peaceful arrival. 🦋 

" Monarchs migrate using a combination of environmental cues, an internal 'sun compass,' and an 'intergenerational relay' for the long journey. The 'super generation' of monarchs, born in late summer, flies thousands of miles to Mexico by navigating with the sun and possibly the Earth's magnetic field, using their antennae to keep time. The journey north is completed by subsequent generations, each living only a few weeks, until the super generation arrives at the overwintering sites."
