Collection: "Hope Floats" Collection

🖤 "Hope Floats" drops February 1st 🖤

This series of work has been on my mind for over a year. One of my goals this year is only to buy second-hand items, so I challenged myself to create this series without purchasing any new products. Instead, I utilized second-hand supplies and materials I already owned. It was gratifying to push my creativity by using what I had and exploring thrifted surfaces for painting and framing.

Each heart in the collection was cut from saved canvas scraps from four large commissions, which left me with plenty of leftover raw canvas to experiment with. Every frame, mat, or surface has been thrifted and modified to align with the vision of this series.

I incorporated ribbon, rick-rack, and collage scraps to enhance the mini pieces of work. The title, “Hope Floats,” is intentionally set for release in February 2025. It reflects my hope for our country, our environment, and those suffering from natural/climate disasters and homelessness. It expresses my concern about using resources and our desire to achieve equity. Each piece embodies my heart and hope, as well as yours, sending it into the universe.

A percent of proceeds will be donated to Watch Duty, a non-profit app that has been a lifesaver for my bestie, who lives in LA. Learn more about their mission here.
