The expectation that girls should like pink and boys should like blue has always frustrated me. While I understand there is a historical context to this, can we not change it now? I hope that more people will embrace equity and celebrate preferences regardless of gender in the coming years. I remember when I proudly exclaimed for one of my babies, "Pink or blue; baby, we love you!" I hope we can move beyond that outdated notion.
